My copy of Captain Rainbow arrived today and I managed to find a spare hour to play it this evening. I can’t say if it’s as brilliant as skip’s previous work just yet as I’m just settling in to the game but I’ve had quite a bit of fun exploring and messing around with Captain Rainbow’s yo-yo attack. What I can say is that the presentation is wonderful. The visuals have a dreamlike storybook quality to them and the sound stays true to skip’s usual blend of weird voices, musical sound effects and jazzy background score. Lovely stuff.
Also: here’s a peek at the game’s instruction manual. I figure many people won’t have seen this yet. It’s definitely worth taking a look at.
Also again: How many of you would be interested in me creating a dedicated Captain Rainbow forum? I think a few of us will probably be playing through at the same time so it might be good to have somewhere to talk in case we get stuck or something. If so, can anyone recommend any good, free, forum software?
A forum is a good idea.
As for software, I’m using freeforum101.com for that Moon project. It’s not bad.
The forum idea sounds good. I got my copy yesterday too, and I’ve met most characters already.
